Smartivity Edge: An Interactive Coloring Experience for Kids
Smartivity Edge is a free Android app developed by Smartivity Labs that brings coloring sheets to life in a fun and interactive way. It works in conjunction with the Smartivity Edge Coloring Sheets Pack, which can be purchased at toy stores or online. With Smartivity Edge, children can color pictures of animals and watch them come to life on their smartphone or tablet screen.
The app uses a cutting edge image and texture recognition algorithm to identify the colors filled by children and displays their creations in dazzling detail. It also includes Augmented Reality enabled 3D interactive features and unique learning exercises to introduce new concepts and reinforce familiar ones. Each sheet comes with its own set of interactive, rich-media learning features, and Smartivity mascots Jay and Ria take children on an exciting learning adventure, explaining basic concepts, sharing facts, and encouraging interaction with learning-based games.
To use the app, simply color the Smartivity Edge coloring sheet, place it on a flat surface, download the free app, select the coloring sheet on the app, hold the smartphone or tablet with the camera facing the sheet, scan the colored sheet, align the corners of the coloring sheet with the corners on the app screen, and watch the coloring sheet come to life in the same colors that have been filled in.
